The programming session begins with understanding your needs and wants. There is a major difference between wants and needs…wants are dreams, whereas needs are requirements.
Needs | Wants |
REALITY | DREAMS |
Building on your needs and wants we then identify your projects constraints both negotiable and non-negotiable. ThotBox Design team use those requirements to formulate a set of boundaries or governing principles by which they can manipulate the project design. The manipulation of those constraints, enhanced by negotiable elements (i.e.,building materials, media applications, color, texture and technology), will then enable the designer to adapt and manage those constraints. Great designers do not allow non-negotiable constraints to overwhelm the design process.
We work with the non-negotiable constraints to help us identify the range as part of understanding our client. It is extremely important to create a relationship, dialogue, and partnership with project stakeholders, and by utilizing the Pólya Principle, together we can achieve great project results.
Simply applied, the Pólya Principle (George Pólya, 1887-1985, Hungarian Mathematician, ‘How to Solve It’) provides general heuristics for solving problems of all complexities. ThotBox Designers often subconsciously use this process to create and formulate plans for project execution. The easiest form of this process comes in four phases: understand the problem, devise
a plan, carry out the plan, and review/extend. The Pólya Principle is a perfect way to integrate the common problems that affect the process of your project.
With adequate pace we construct your programming blueprint then overlay our development principles to realize your vision.
